Heatran Corporation's predecessor, The CV Company Inc. was started in the early 70's as a manufacturer's representative serving the Commercial Air Conditioning, Heating and Ventilating Industry in North and Central Louisiana, East Texas and South Arkansas.

In 1991 the company's name was changed to Heatran Corporation (heatran stands for heat transfer) to better identify the market we serviced and launch our new mission to offer products and systems that would save energy for the owner of the equipment. The price of electricity was starting to steadily increase nationally and the experts said that between OPEC market control, the depletion of existing fields and the shortage of new, low cost, oil and natural gas discovery opportunities, energy operating costs were going to be a major consideration in the purchase of HVAC equipment. How true it has been.

In 1995 we decided to also emphasize the products we had that offered solutions to Indoor Air Quality Problems and the prevention of Mold and Mildew in the Air Conditioning System.

In the year 2000 we also added manufacturers that addressed the Environment.

Low emissions boilers and water heaters, non chemical water treatment systems were gaining popularity and were even mandatory in some areas of the country. The Green Building Council and ASHRAE were starting there move to create Environmental and Sustainable construction practices, so we felt the "hand writing was on the wall", and it sure was.
